Well, only a week after returning home from Christmas Vacation we had to head back to Moundsville, WV for a funeral. Don't get me wrong when I say that I wasn't looking forward to it. I wanted to be wife my wife and her family for this emotional event but I didn't want to make the 5 1/2 hr trip.
We made it there with almost no issues. But the trip back took 7 hrs and boy it felt like 10. Andrew gave his first 2 1/2 hr straight fit on the last 2 1/2 hour leg of the trip. I tried everything I could to make him happy but it didn't work. I don't know if it was because he was in the car the night before for 3 hrs and then went to bed, got up, back in the car for 5 1/2 hrs or that he was just board.
I can't wait till he is old enough to want to watch DVD's. I am not a fan of putting him in front of the TV but I will be buying one of those for the car as soon as I can save some cash to do so. Anyway, why does a trip seem to take so much longer when a kid is in the car? I am hoping this just gets better but till then I am going to need some ear plugs!!

At that age, it can definitely be longer! THe DVD player is a GREAT investment. If you think it is longer with one child, wait until you have 2!!! AND, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Maybe that is why our parents kept us on much shorter trips, or have you forgoten?!
