New Era? We will see! My insight on the matter.

I decided to watch President Obama take the oath and give his speech. Before I make a commit on this I would like to say a few things about President Bush. I know that there are a lot of people out there whom hate President Bush and blame him for all the bad things that are going on in our country today and since he has been in office. I do want to disagree with these critics. I as a Democrat voted for Gore in the first election but voted for Bush in his second term. I believe if it wasn't for President Bush, that we would have been attacked. I also believe that he has done a great job on many other fronts. No matter if you disagree with what he has done or agree I believe he deserves the respect of all Americans. He is our leader no matter if we like it or not. He is doing a job that we have chosen not to do.

Now for President Obama -- I didn't vote for the man. I don't agree with many of his policies or in some matters his beliefs. I however, as an American, will be behind him as our President. I will agree with the things he does that are justified and right and will speak up when he does something I don't agree is right and justified. But no matter what he does I will respect him as a human being and as our leader. I will pray for him every day that he does what is good for our country and for God.

I just hope that people stop the one sided views and take in what all people say and respect that. It's alright to disagree with someone but all sides should be heard and should be respected. This is not a communist country nor socialist country. This is a democratic, free country where we all have the right to say what we want without prosecution.

Let's pray for the new President and Vice President and the new administration. Lets work together as a country to make sure they do what is right and to make sure they preserve our constitution.

God Bless Everyone and God Bless America!!

Long trips seem longer with a kid!

Well, only a week after returning home from Christmas Vacation we had to head back to Moundsville, WV for a funeral. Don't get me wrong when I say that I wasn't looking forward to it. I wanted to be wife my wife and her family for this emotional event but I didn't want to make the 5 1/2 hr trip.

We made it there with almost no issues. But the trip back took 7 hrs and boy it felt like 10. Andrew gave his first 2 1/2 hr straight fit on the last 2 1/2 hour leg of the trip. I tried everything I could to make him happy but it didn't work. I don't know if it was because he was in the car the night before for 3 hrs and then went to bed, got up, back in the car for 5 1/2 hrs or that he was just board.

I can't wait till he is old enough to want to watch DVD's. I am not a fan of putting him in front of the TV but I will be buying one of those for the car as soon as I can save some cash to do so. Anyway, why does a trip seem to take so much longer when a kid is in the car? I am hoping this just gets better but till then I am going to need some ear plugs!!
